Ahhh. Almost done with my page, just need my last photo and some captions. I also need to get my paper signed by the directors and who ever else needs to sign it. Cant wait till Christmas break!

First off studio works wouldnt even work and then when it did work it was slow! But I still worked on my page, so its all good. I think im almost done and should have it finished before Friday.

Today I took pictures at lunch. I got a few decent ones but I need to take higher quality pictures. I edited one of the photos, it looks really cool! I hope it gets chosen to stay in the yearbook.

Photoshop tutorial reflection

The videos showed me how to use certain tools on photoshop like patch and spot healing tool. The tutorials showed me how much photoshop can really do and just how easy it is do things like get rid of blemishes on the face and something you wouldn't want in a picture.

I like this magazine because it tells you how much more the yearbook is than just memories. It gives the yearbook a lot meaning

Yearbook blog entry 9/14/2010

It is important to know the students because they can help you with any questions you have about your work. I am a digital artist, I deal with editing pictures and designing themes. My position would probably interact with a photographer, for example if i need a photographer to take a picture a certain way. High school is my primary audience and middle school is my secondary. The main thing it has offered is memories, i think its what you interpret of the yearbook. I am in interact. I am available on afternoons 

Cover Design

Catchphrases for yearbooks.

Academics: “Raise Your Hand”. This one is my favorite because it correlates to the main heading "With These Hands" better than the other phrases.  

Looking at Theme Examples.

1. The 2009 Decamhian yearbook titled "Pursue The Moment", is a really nice yearbook. I would give it a 8 out of 10. I really like how the paint is splattered across the page. The dark colors make it look really good. Most of the pages have a similar look, blue, red, yellow, and green paint splatter in the background.

2. The 2008 Lair yearbook titled "honestly", this yearbook is very unique. Its put together like a scrapbook, it looks like the pictures are taped down and the pictures have torn edges. There are little splotch marks in the background. I would give it a nine out of 10 because the is so much creativity in the design.

Yearbook Theme Questions

1. A dark or grunge type font.
2. The design is grungy
3. The colors are shaded
4. dark grungy elements are repeated
5. Don't leave anything out about the school, Include main details
6. Keep a timeline of the school listing the ups and downs
7. The way you take and design the pictures, maybe take pictures of people holding cameras. Make T-shirts to buy

Ethics

There is a line with freedom of speech, you humiliate someone verbally to where they kill themselves and get away with it by saying it was using freedom of speech. There is no reason to say those things to someone.

Writing Captions

June 1st 2010 at the Mayde Creek FFA Marisa Bustamonte and her pig cute  Hamlet pose for a picture by yelling. It shows how people can treat animals like their friends. Hamlet doesn't look too comfortable but thats because he is being held. There is also a creeper in the background just staring at them.

WAIS 2004 yearbook

The cover design is weird. I like the amount of pictures it has. This yearbook is too simple. There is no design no creativity. The pictures were nicely taken. The senior pages weren't as good as they are now. I like how its in color. Overall i would give it a 5 out of 10

Staff Positions

1. Photographer- I want to be a photographer because i like taking pictures and its a fun position. And I have a camera of my own at home.

2. Digital Artist- I have used photoshop before and i know a basic understanding of it.

School Day 8/26/10

Today in class we looked at our survey we took last class.The survey results were surprising. After that we did a computer hunt that asked questions about the classroom and computers. Then we created a blog for class. It was interesting and a fun experience.
